Early days

Our first few weeks in Toronto felt more like an extended holiday then living here.  Yes, I was working but Stu was not, and he was out sight-seeing and coming back to our apartment with lots of pics of our new city.  It was all quite surreal, we had a furnished apartment (well, actually, we ended up moving between three apartments in a month) so were surrounded by another person’s belongings, in a city we did not know, knowing almost no-one.  There were certainly moments of thinking:  What have I done.  Being scared, sad, excited and all sorts of emotions I could not quite identify was all part of the journey.

One of our first trips out of the city was to Niagara falls.Niagara Falls 027Niagara Falls 037Niagara Falls 040

As you can see from the pics, the falls are just huge.  You get to stand only a few feet from the edge of the precipice where this enormous volume of water tumbles off into space; the power of the spectacle is quite something and you feel it through your bones.  The aerial pics are from the Skyline Tower which is perched up on the ridge above the falls providing some pretty awesome views of the surrounding area.
